Bio
Krishnan Sankaranarayanan has over 30 years of healthcare domain experience; of which over 12 years has been on Patient Safety, Risk Management and Quality. Krish has worked extensively in implementing the Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP) in his previous workplace. He served as an Educational Consultant for HealthCareCan (formerly Canadian Healthcare Association) mentoring students for their distance learning program. Krish’s expertise includes culture of safety, healthcare risk management, high reliability, human factors, process improvement and continuous quality improvement.
Krish’s passion for patient safety made him pursue a master’s degree in Patient Safety Leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) from the Healthcare Quality Certification Commission, Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) from the American Hospital Association, Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) from the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety (CBPPS) and Certified in Medical Quality (CMQ) from the American Board of Medical Quality (ABMQ). Krish is a Certified Yellow Belt. With this designation, he supports The Joint Commission’s activities associated with establishing and sustaining a Robust Process Improvement® (RPI®) culture.
Krish has published many articles on patient safety. He was a contributing author of the ASHRM Patient Safety Risk Management Playbook. Krish was the faculty and content developer for Certified Healthcare Risk Management Online Course for the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO) a not-for-profit society based in India. Besides Krish is a noted international speaker.
Krish is Distinguished Fellow of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management; Fellow of the International Society of Quality in Health Care; Fellow of the National Association for Healthcare Quality and founding member and the Past President of the American College of Healthcare Executives Group of Middle East & North Africa Group.
