Bio

Riccardo is a senior trauma surgeon and expert in organizing critical care services, a Fellow of American College of Surgeons, and Fellow of American College of Critical Care Medicine. He is the Former Director of both National Societies of Intensive Care and Surgery, and was President or XXII Brazillan  Congress of Critical Care. He has been an ATLS instructor certified by the American College of Surgeons. Ricardo Graduated in Medicine at Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (1983), Fellow in General Surgery at Ipanema Federal Hospital and Military Police Central (1984-1987). He was awarded a.Masters Degree in Surgery at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1999), Doctor Degree in Surgery at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2011), and MBA in Health Management at COPPEAD, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1998) and Post Graduate Degree in in Health Management at Dom Cabral Foundation (2015). He is Director of the Intensive Care Unit at Hospital Samaritano (RJ) since 1987, and  Chair of Surgical Critical Care at Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro since 2011, Assistant Professor of Surgery at Surgery  Department of Surgery at Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro  since 2011 and Medical Director of Hospital Universitário Gaffrée e Guinle at Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (2011-2015).  He is a Board certified in Intensive care by Associação de Medicina Intensiva Brasileira and Board of General Surgery by Colégio Brasileiro de Cirurgiões. Past experience as Trauma Surgeon during 10 years, ATLS instructor by American College of Surgeons. Fellow of American College of Surgeons and Fellow of American College of Critical Care Medicine. Former Director of both National Societies of Intensive Care and Surgery. Former President or XXII Brazillan  Congress of Critical Care.
